Illinois, SliMP3, Parents, San Fran, Pioneer, and snow

Back in Ames from Illinois. I'm now the proud owner of a SliMP3. Clearly a glimpse into the future of home music collections. I can't express how elite this thing is... Thousands of CDs instantly available from the remote control or a web interface and through my HiFi!

Going to visit Mom on the 24th, the Dad on the 25th. On the 28th I'm going to San Francisco to see 3 shows of The String Cheese Incident with Spenser. Should have a day with Megan and Beef too. If Beef comes through with the tickets, we're going on a tour of Alcatraz.

After vacation the first week of January, I'm doing the implementation of Iowa's first IBM Linux cluster for Pioneer Hi-Bred in Des Moines.

We still don't have any snow... strange.

Thanksgiving, NCSA, New Mexico, and LOTR

It's been almost three weeks since my last entry...

Went to my Aunt's for thanksgiving. Mother, brother, aunt, uncle, niece, and nephew were in attendance.

Spent a week in New Mexico working on clusters.

Drove 5.5 hours on Wednesday night to Champaign/Urbana to get briefed on some work I'm going to do at NCSA and then drove 5.5 hours back to Ames this morning.

Next week back in New Mexico to teach a few classes and then back to NCSA the week after that.

Twelve days until Aragorn son of Arathorn.
