Ganglia, Linux World

Friday, January 25th, 02002

Ganglia is damn cool. It will be on the next cluster I install.

We're still without snow this year. Maybe we won't get any this year. Very strange indeed.

Going to LinuxWorld in New York City next week. Have tickets, will travel.

Feeling much better. Still a lingering cough.

Pioneer done. I’m sick.

Done at Pioneer. Everything's working well. This nasty virus thing I picked up last week is only getting worse. Horrible coughing. I'm laying low until I can recover.

Stuff

Total neglect of the weblog as of late.

Let's see... Went to Mom's and then Dad's for Christmas. Saw brother. Went to San Francisco for New Years. Got the the news that Father was to have open heart surgery on the 2nd. Didn't sleep all new years eve so I could make the flight at 6:00 AM back to Des Moines. Got home at 5:00 PM or so. Slept for 3 hours, then drove 5 hours up to Minnesota for Dad's surgery. All went well and Dad's recovering.

Did Pioneer cluster implementation starting on 1/7. The users seem very happy with their new system. Was at NCSA again last week. This week I'm at Pioneer for two more days to do some polish/tuning and then I'm off to New Mexico for some cluster customization work for the rest of the week. Next week I'll probably be at the University of Georgia.

The Virtual private servers and security contexts project is very cool. I'm definitely going to experiment with this and possibly implement it on my home systems soon.
