    the town elder pictured above, dawning signature straw hat and denim over-alls
    was a orator of great variety. lest not withholding songs and this recollected tale...
    "so ya-know, dee udder day I was ouut drivin'-- and da cop pulled me oover.
    I says, 'ya-know, I wasn't speedin'--deedn't run no stop sign... whatcha pull mee oover for?'
    And da cop says, 'ya-know, yer wife done fell oout 'bout tree miles beck!'
    'aah, good!' I says, 'I taaught I was goin' deef!' "
