July 2000 fishing trip to Dubawnt Lake in Canada's Nunavut Territory. Roger Bense, Chad Bense, Robbin Minke, Jerry Biermaier, Dennis Rosenow, Jim Van Horrick, my father (Owen Bohnsack) and I went on a fishing trip with Tukto Lodge to the greatest Lake Trout Lake on earth. That's what they claimed anyways. After being there, I believe them. - John holds up a beauty trout. I think my dad caught this one. Note the bug gear. When the wind was down and we were away from the main lake, the bugs were nasty. - Nunavut Canada

This was my first or second fish. We were something like 5 minutes on the water and without a guide. We didn't have a scale. We think it was over 30 pounds. - Nunavut Canada

The Otter docked at the Dubawnt camp along with our fishing boats. Note the summer tundra. The white flufball flowers in the foreground are but a tiny sample of its flora. - Nunavut Canada

Closeup of the "Otter". This is the float plane that flew us from Kasba to Dubawant. I'm glad I wore earplugs. That plane was loud! - Nunavut Canada
